Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.

Female Referee Stephanie Frappart To Officiated Uefa Super Cup Final Between Liverpool And Chelsea

It has become a dramatic final cup as the Uefa Super Cup between Liverpool who won the champions league final against chelsea who defeated Arsenal in the Europa cup final will be handle by Female referee Stephanie Frappart.
Frappart, who refereed the Women’s World Cup final last month, will take charge of the August 14 season curtain-raiser which sees Champions League winners Liverpool face Europa League champions Chelsea at Besiktas Park in Istanbul.

Female Referee Stephanie Frappart To Officiated Uefa Super Cup Final Between Liverpool And Chelsea

She will lead a largely female team, joined by the two assistant referees who flanked her in Lyon during the USA’s victory over Holland in the World Cup final  – Manuela Nicolosi of France and Michelle O’Neal from the Republic of Ireland. 
Uefa President Aleksander Ceferin said he hoped the Frenchwoman’s participation would “provide inspiration”.  “As an organisation, we place the utmost importance on the development of women’s football in all areas,” he said.

Though Frappart is not the first to be assigned to lead a men’s Uefa tie, as Switzerland’s Nicole Petignat refereed a handful of qualifying round matches in the Europa League from 2004, her involvement sees a woman take charge of a major European fixture for the first time. 
Frappart, 35, is not new to breaking barriers. She made history as the first woman to officiate a Ligue 1 match in April, and in June was added to the permanent roster of France’s first division referees for the 2019-20 season. Turkey’s Cuneyt Cakir will act as fourth official, and VAR will also be in operation for the match.    

President Buhari: I Have Saved 5 Million Nigeria From Poverty In My Regime

President Buhari yesterday at the opening of the Global Youth Employment Forum of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Abuja said the federal government’s introduction of the  National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) by the federal government, has in three years, lifted no fewer than five million Nigerians out of extreme poverty.

He said the forum was an opportunity for young persons to address the challenges of national economic stability. The president’s claim came despite report by the World Poverty Clock in 2018 that Nigeria had overtaken India with the largest number of people living in extreme poverty.

According to the report released in May 2018, Nigeria now has an estimated 87 million people in extreme poverty, compared to India’s 73 million.

Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, President Buhari commended the ILO for committing itself to youth employment.

He noted that the federal government had an in-depth understanding of the rapidly changing demographics and the emerging world of work.

“We note at this point that the issue of youth unemployment has assumed a global significant, and on the front burner of development discourse.

“The government of Nigeria understands the need to focus attention on youth empowerment by creating the enabling environment for job opportunities and capacity building.

Cristiano Ronaldo Convince Dybala To Join Manchester United To Be A Champion

Former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has his team mate Paulo Dybala to join Manchester United this summer if he wants to become a ‘champion’.

The Argentine is set to make a decision on a move to Old Trafford in the next 48 hours after Juventus agreed a swap deal with United that would see Romelu Lukaku move to Turin.

Dybala had intended to stay in Italy this season and wants to speak to Maurizio Sarri before making a final decision on his future.

R. Kelly To Appear In NYC Court Over Sex Allegations

Popular R&B singer R. Kelly is arraign in a New York City court Friday for sexually abusing women and girls. The hearings follow his arrest last month in a separate Chicago case accusing him of engaging in child pornography.
R. Kelly was scheduled to appear at continuous hearings in federal court in Brooklyn, where he was expected to enter a not guilty plea and then seek bail.

Kelly, 52, is charged in New York with exploiting five victims, identified only as “Jane Does.” According to court papers, they include one he met at one of his concerts and another at a radio station where she was an intern.
The papers allege that Kelly arranged for some of the victims to meet him on the road for illegal sex. He had one victim travel in 2017 to a show on Long Island, where he had unprotected sex with her without telling her “he had contracted an infectious venereal disease” in violation of New York law, they say.

Lawyers for Kelly have asked a New York judge to grant him bail so he can better fight the charges as they also seek his release in Chicago. Defense papers label his accusers “disgruntled groupies.”
The alleged victims “sought out Robert’s attention, even fought each other for it, voluntarily contacted him, came to his shows, pined to be with him,” the defense papers say. “Robert would spend his time and even become friends with and care about these groupies and fans who were dying to be with him.”

Trump Threaten To Add 10% Tariff On China Remaining Imports

President Donald Trump has come out with a new strategy to pressurised China to reach a trade deal by saying he will impose 10% tariffs Sept. 1 on the remaining $300 billion in Chinese imports he hasn’t already taxed. The move immediately sent stock prices sinking.
U.S. consumers will likely feel the pain if Trump proceeds with the new tariffs. Trump’s earlier tariffs had been designed to minimize the impact on ordinary Americans by focusing on industrial goods. But the new tariffs will hit a vast range of consumer products from cellphones to silk scarves.

Trump has long said he was preparing to tax the $300 billion in additional Chinese tariffs. But he had suspended the threat after meeting with President Xi Jinping in Osaka, Japan, in June.
It isn’t clear when American consumers are likely to feel the impact of the additional tariffs, but higher prices could show up in stores this fall.
Besides announcing the additional tariffs on Chinese imports, Trump tweeted that “we look forward to continuing our positive dialogue with China on a comprehensive Trade Deal, and feel that the future between our two countries will be a very bright one!”
The president accused Beijing of failing to follow through on stopping the sale of fentanyl to the United States or on purchasing large quantities of farm goods such as soybeans. Speaking to reporters Thursday at the White House, Trump complained that Xi is “not moving fast enough.”

Trump said he scheduled the additional tariffs to begin Sept. 1 to give exports already en route from China time to get to the United States a journey that can take three or four weeks. By setting the import taxes at 10%, he has leeway to ratchet them higher if necessary to further increase pressure on Beijing.

526 Teeth Remove From A Boy’s Mouth In India

According to an hospital in india a 7-year-old boy who has been complaining of jaw pain was found to have 526 teeth inside his mouth.

Dr. Prathiba Ramani, the head of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at Saveetha Dental College and Hospital said the boy was admitted last month in the southern city of Chennai because of swelling and pain near his molars in his lower right jaw and doctors scanned and x-rayed his mouth, they found a sac embedded in his lower jaw filled with “abnormal teeth.”

While the surgery to remove the teeth took place last month, doctors needed time to individually examine each tooth before they could confirm their findings.

After discovering the sac, two surgeons removed it from the boy’s mouth. Then Ramani’s team took four to five hours to empty the sac to confirm its contents and discovered the hundreds of teeth.

“There were a total of 526 teeth ranging from 0.1 millimeters (.004 inches) to 15 millimeters (0.6 inches). Even the smallest piece had a crown, root and enamel coat indicating it was a tooth,” she said.

he boy actually may have had the extra teeth for some time. His parents told doctors that they had noticed swelling in his jaw when he was as young as 3, but they couldn’t do much about it because he would not stay still or allow doctors to examine him.

Dr. P. Senthilnathan, head of the hospital’s Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department and one of two surgeons who operated on the boy, detailed the procedure to CNN.

“Under general anesthesia, we drilled into the jaw from the top,” he said. “We did not break the bone from the sides, meaning reconstruction surgery was not required. The sac was removed. You can think of it as a kind of balloon with small pieces inside.”
